On October 7th, the Windsor Cancer Research Group (WCRG) proudly announced the launch of a new $100,000 fundraising campaign called Passports: Bridging Research and Hope. This innovative, ground-breaking initiative is aimed at establishing a cancer research support network that will foster cross-border collaborations. The Passports campaign will lay the foundation for bringing international clinical trial access to Windsor-Essex cancer patients.
Clinical Director for WCRG, Dr. Caroline Hamm says, “We know that in cities that have active research and clinical trials department people are living longer. We are also incredibly lucky to live within a few miles of four of the top cancer centres in the world. Passports campaign is the first step in taking advantage of our location and starting a formal relationship with our partners across the border.” To kick off the WCRG’s fundraising campaign, Caesars Windsor provided a generous $25,000 donation as part of their annual commitment to local cancer programs.
